Amelia April Joy Hantke

Amelia Hantke is a game developer who loves building gameplay systems and creative tools that let players shape their own adventures.

Cardboard Catacombs began as a 3D level editor Amelia made during her Software Engineering studies. It later became her Bachelor of Science thesis, “Development of Modular Gameplay Systems for an Action-Adventure Game with User-Generated Environments.”

Amelia has since grown it into a playable action-adventure game with combat, enemy encounters, interactive objects and level progression. She also created some of the supporting 3D models in Blender.

Origins

Where It Started

Amelia has loved experimenting with level editors since childhood.

That love became the heart of Cardboard Catacombs: making the jump from playing a game to creating one feel smaller, friendlier and more fun.

Philosophy

Creation Should Feel Like Play.

Players shouldn't need to understand programming or professional tools. Cardboard Catacombs gives them simple gameplay pieces and handles the difficult work in the background.

Cupcake Interactive

Making creation part of the adventure.

Cupcake Interactive is developing Cardboard Catacombs, an action-adventure game where building levels is part of the fun.
